Lead Social Worker
An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Social Worker to work in an exceptional hospital service based in the Warrington, Greater Manchester area. As a Lead Social Worker you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
This special hospital provides specialised services for people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Deaf Mental Health problems, with a layout that enables you to deliver care within a low stimulus, spacious environment
As a Lead Social Worker your key responsibilities include:
• Undertake a comprehensive assessment of the patients social care needs with supervision.
• To ensure an accurate holistic and up to date social history is available for each patient, which offers formulations and recommendations
• To liaise with Social Services Departments to ensure that reports and attendance by a representative are available for Mental Health Reviews Tribunals. Where necessary, prepare reports and attend hearings in collaboration with Social Services Departments.
• Ensure that patients have access to independent advice on financial legal and advocacy matters.
• To observe the supervision contract with the Head of Social Work
• To deliver supervision to named colleagues
An ideal Lead Social Worker must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:
• Demonstrate ability to assess and manage a patient caseload. Good interpersonal and communication skills including negotiating, mediation, and presentation skills.
• Minimum of two years post qualification practice
• Can demonstrate effective planning and time management
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of social work theory and practice shows an understanding of the relationship between mental disorder and risk
• Within an adult mental health environment, preferably within a forensic mental health setting
• To be registered with the HCPC
The successful Lead Social Worker will receive an excellent annual salary of £38,760 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
