Lead Psychologist

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Lead Psychologist to work in an exceptional rehabilitation service based in the Wrexham, Wales area. As a Psychologist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This service provides care for men and women with personality disorders and mental illness in an established and well-run service, where you will focus on equipping people with the appropriate skills for community living.

As a Lead Psychologist your key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the provision of psychology services in a specified area, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Participating fully with the multidisciplinary team and ensuring that the service user is fully engaged in their care pathway.
• Supporting clinical team working, including both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes.
• Supporting the clinical team and area of service in developing new initiatives and ways of working.
• Working with internal and external agencies in order to enhance treatment pathways for service users.

An ideal Lead Psychologist must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position;
• Knowledge and understanding of working with Trauma.
• Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area.
• Competency in psychological assessment and formulation skills and an aptitude for learning new assessment methods.
• Competency as regards risk assessment/management tools and formulation.
• Experience using CBT skills to address a range of clinical and/or forensic issues.
• DBT Qualified and ability to run the DBT programme.
• EMDR Qualification desirable.
• Ability to supervise non-psychology colleagues in areas of psychological application
• Successful completion of a Doctorate in either Clinical or Forensic Psychology or the British Psychological Society’s stage 2 training in Forensic Psychology, enabling registration with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist
• Up to date knowledge of legislation and its implications for the profession and the client groups we work with.
• Ability to identify and proactive resolve problems and challenges within the service

The successful Lead Psychologist will receive an excellent annual salary from £47,500 - £52,500 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
